Failure !?!
God intends us to be successful (Jeremiah 29:11) but sometimes in our fallen humanity (weakness) or sinfulness (deliberate error/mistake) we fail. (Psalm 37 23-4, Psalm 119 10-12). Someone in the Bible who made a dramatic failure (and therefore not in this respect an example to follow) was Simon Peter, one of Jesus twelve disciples. |
Peter betrayed Jesus by denying his Lord 3 times, just as Jesus knew he would (Luke 22:34). However God had plans for Peter (Matthew 16:18), and unlike Judas who made a greater error through betrayal and then denial (He hanged himself instead of seeking restoration; John 13, Matthew 27 1-10) Peter wept and was brought back to faith and purpose in Christ (John 21 15-17).
Have you made errors in life, deliberate failures, unfortunate mistakes?
Are you familiar with God's word (See Psalm 119 10-12)
Do you need to be restored?
Ask the Lord to show you the way in any circumstance that needs rectifying. Turn from sin and choose to follow Him.
"Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me." (Matthew 16:24)
