"He himself is our peace .." Eph 2:14
Jesus is God's greatest gift to mankind; Saviour, Lord and Friend (John 3:16) He takes our pain and sorrow; replaces them with His peace. He takes our sin and restores us to himself. He will not leave us but stays with us on our journey (Isaiah 61) We have much to look forward to, much to gain, much to receive. This Christmas ask God to help you receive more of Jesus in your life. Have a 'turn out' of sin and sorrow and ask Jesus for His presence and peace. Pray also for the world in which we live that Jesus' life would be more evident and more would choose to follow Him. |
"Make me a channel of your peace,
Where there is hatred let me bring your love,
Where there is injury your pardon Lord,
And where there's doubt true faith in you
O master grant that I may never seek,
So much to be consoled as to console
To be understood as to understand
To be loved as to love with all my soul
Make me a channel of your peace,
Where there's despair in life, let me bring hope
Where there is darkness, only light,
And where there's sadness, ever joy
Make me a channel of your peace
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned
In giving to all men that we receive
And in dying that we are born to eternal life"
(From the prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi)
*Ephesians 4:3 *Philippians 4:6
