Emotions
God made us human! He made us in His image and as such we are capable of all the range of emotions that He has.
Jesus - God with us - demonstrated love to us by becoming one of us and sharing our humanity. Compassion, gentleness, anger, jealousy.. all were within him...yet He did not sin!
~ "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathise with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are - yet without sin." Hebrews 4:15
we can feel many feelings - or sometimes few, but whatever the circumstance or situation God expects our attitudes to become like His.
~ "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2
Oftentimes this is a process - we need to know our feelings, manage and understand them (self-control is a fruit of the Spirit ~ that God grows in us) and express them with care.
whatever is within we need to submit it to Christ and ask for His changing power and grace.
why not take a moment to consider your own feelings..... and then pray..
Heavenly Father, thank you that I am made in your likeness and you know me. I commit all my feelings to you and ask for your help with ..(whatever you may struggle with)... Thankyou for your cleansing power and encouragment for renewal, please work through me this year to make me more like you. In Jesus name, Amen
"..He cares for you" 1 Peter 5:7
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. 1Corinthians 13 4-7
