Jesus said "Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were.. to receive" John 7 37-39

The words of the song above were written by George Matheson (1842-1906). He recalls the words were 'given' to him; the inspiration of the Holy Spirit in a time of distress ~ God's comfort and presence.
