No Foreign Gods .. "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.. you shall have no other gods before me" Exodus 20 2-3

The 10 Commandments tell us that God is a Jealous God (Exodus 20:5) & we are not to serve anyone but Him ! Focus is key (Hebrews 12:2) The Israelites, as a nation, took 40 years to learn this after they had been released from Pharoah's oppression and found themselves wandering in the desert. (see Prince of Egypt film ~ based on Bible)
Some of the people went astray & even created their own 'gods' - Deuteronomy 32 1-52 
The God of Israel promises 'straight paths' (Proverbs 3 5-6)  and is portrayed in Psalm 23 as a Shepherd - one to be trusted & followed who cares & protects.
Following other paths/gods/spiritual practices leads us to destruction (Matthew 7:13, Lev 19:31)



Following Christ, who fulfilled the law (2Corinthians 5:15) will lead to everlasting Life (Revelation 2:7, 20:15)
Christians may suffer in this world & be badly treated by others, (2Timothy 3:12) we are called to resist the enemy (James 4:7) & carry our Cross day by day.. (Luke 14:27)

 As we approach Easter this Holy week ~ Pls remember those who may suffer for their Faith, who's lives are made difficult, & are in prison/danger.
