..."a friend loves at all times..." Proverbs 17:17

The first disciples were called to be with Jesus - he wanted relationship with them and enjoyed being with them Lk 10 38-42 (At the home of Mary and Martha). He was concerned about their welfare John 11 (The death of Lazarus) and wanted to help those in need Matt 9:36.
When we follow Jesus we are called Christ's friends ~ John 15:15 and we gain the name 'Christian' - which could be understood to mean 'little Christ'. God expects us to live as the people we have become ~ being good friends and examples of His sincere love for others. Mark 12 28-31.

 Heavenly Father, thank you that I am Christ's friend and I belong to him. Please help me when I need your comfort & strength or care ~ and enable me to be the kind of friend that shows more of you. Reveal to me more of yourself through others today I pray
