God Cares (1Peter 5:7). His ways and purposes are perfect (Deut 32:4) ~ but they may differ from our own! God designed us to follow Him but often in our 'fallen humanity' (that is, a world affected by sin) we want to choose our own way. (Isaiah 53:6) This brings conflict because the Lord teaches us to obey Him and turn our hearts and minds towards Him and others. (Deut 30:19). The Bible teaches that God is the one who sustains us, renews us and brings change - to walk in His blessing, we need to choose His ways.
Elijah was a man who choose to obey God - and God strengthened him - 1Kings 18:16 - 1Kings 19:18
When Job was struggling for understanding, God helped and blessed him - Job
Simeon & Anna devoted themselves to God - and received what they had been promised - a glimpse of Jesus - Luke 2 25-40
The disciples of the New Testament followed Jesus and were provided for.....John 21:12
and by Faith many trusted God as they waited - Hebrews 11
God created us to work..and to rest. Even God rested after creating the universe - and He expects us to rest after our endeavours.
Waiting on God may be frustrating at times but He is faithful - and that time may give us a new perspective and peace as well as rest. Waiting allows patience to grow, trust and self-control. It reminds us that our lives are in God's hands and He is in control

Lord, I come to you
Let my heart be changed, renewed Flowing from the grace That I've found in you Lord, I've come to know The weaknesses I see in me Will be stripped away By the power of your love Hold me close Let your love surround me Bring me near Draw me to your side And as I wait I'll rise up like the eagle And I will soar with you Your spirit leads me on In the power of your love (from Geoff Bullock) |
