"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery"
Galatians 5:1
Galatians 5:1
Jesus came to earth so that we can have life in all its fullness (John 10:10). On the cross He took the penalty for all our sinfulness and proclaimed freedom for the captives "It is finished" ( John 19:30, Isaiah 61). In giving ourselves to Christ we gain our new identity as children of God; a new inheritance (heirs together Ephesisans 3:6) and are commanded to walk in love (2John 1:6).
God warns us against slipping back to our old nature and ways of the world: "do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke slavery". He expects us to become like Him Matthew 5:48 ~ this may be not be easy ~ but God has made all things possible through "His incomparably great power for those who believe "(Eph 1:19)
take some time reading from the Bible what pleases God and what doesn't ~ Gal 5:13-26
are you becoming like Jesus? ask the Lord to help you on areas that may be difficult

obedience leads to freedom ~ "The truth will set you free" John 8:32
A.W.Tozer, Bible teacher and pastor writes : "The Christian cannot escape the peril of too much liberty. He indeed is free, but his very freedom may prove a source of real temptation to him. He is free from the chains of sin,..... free from the curse of the law and the displeasure of God. The ideal Christian is one who knows he is free to do as he will - and wills to be a servant. This is the path Christ took: Blessed is the man who follows him!"
He prays "Thankyou, Lord, for the freedom I have through Christ. I am not bound by sin or fear. Help me to use my freedom to serve you with unfettered boldness. Amen
