Jonah ~
 
         Responding to the call of God. 

Read: Jonah 1-3
 
Jonah was a man called by God to spread His word by calling people to repent of their sins and to worship Him. God sent Jonah to Nineveh, but he resisted and ran away- causing trouble for himself and others before calling to God and repenting of his own sin and carrying out the Lord's plan.
 
God was faithful to Jonah, but Jonah had troubles in his faithfulnes to God. Sometimes we can unexpectedly (or deliberately) encounter pride, stubborness, selfishness and greed in our own lives - putting obstacles between ourselves, God and others.
 
Watchman Nee, a famous chinese christian decided for his own life:
 
      "I want nothing for myself; I want everything for the Lord" (Philippans 1:21)

Ask the Lord to move in the foundations of your own life and pray in the words of the song:
 
River, wash over me
Cleanse me and make me new
Bathe me, refresh me and fill me anew
River wash over me.
 
Spirit, watch over me
Lead me to Jesus' feet
Cause me to worship and fill me anew
Spirit, watch over me
 
Jesus, rule over me
Reign over all my heart
Teach me to praise you and fill me anew
Jesus, rule over me .
