Jesus showed us His complete devotion when He gave His life as the atonement price for our sin. The Bible instructs us that as God is devoted to us, so we are to be devoted to Him ..and to one another (Mark 12 28-31). Prayer is the means by which this becomes possible (Luke 1:37). Through prayer we share our thoughts and concerns with God and draw near to Him. We begin to see ourselves in the light of His love as we read His word and the Holy Spirit quickens our conscience (Proverbs 20:27) - leading us to pray from a renewed heart and mind (Psalm 51:10) for both ourselves and those within our lives and concern.
Take a few minutes to think seriously about your own prayer life...do you have one?? do you need to pray more? could you set aside regular times to speak to /with the Lord, are you alert and aware of His presence throughout the day?
Make it your habit to "pray continually" 1Thess 5:17 and live a life of prayer:

The Difference
I got up early one morning and rushed right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish, I didn't have time to pray.
Problems just tumbled about me and grew heavier with each task;
Why doesn't God help me I wondered, He answered, "You didn't ask."
I wanted to see joy and beauty, but the day toiled on, gray and bleak;
I wondered why God didn't show me; He answered, "You didn't seek."
I tried to come into God's presence; I used all my keys at the lock;
God gently and lovingly chided, "My child, you didn't knock."
I woke up early this morning and paused before entering the day;
I had so much to accomplish that I had to take time to pray.
(Grace L. Naessens)
"Teach me your way O Lord, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name." Psalm 86:11
"acknowledge the God of your father, and serve Him with wholehearted devotion and a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him He will reject you forever."
