The Christian way in following Christ and his example can at times be difficult ! God is in control but life may not always seem so.
While Jesus lived on earth He drew constantly on His Father's love and strength to sustain and guide Him (Matthew 3:17). He often faced trials, temptations, betrayal, death, disease, crowds, despair, loneliness, rejection...(Hebrews 4:15) ~ yet He did not move from his Heavenly Father's will (Matthew 26:39) and God was sufficient to sustain Him amidst trouble.
The Bible teaches that we as Christ's followers and ambassadors may face similar hardships, troubles, misunderstandings and persecutions (2 Corinthians 11:24-26) ~ but Jesus Himself prays for us and the Holy Spirit intercedes in our weakness (Romans 8:26). Ultimately those who know Christ have confidence in His final victory (Revelation 2:1-4) - and in the words of Saint Julian of Norwich:
"All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well."
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Thankyou that you know all things and that you care for me.
Please help me today with the situations (_____) that I find hard
Grant me wisdom, strength and patience to cope like Jesus would.
And Guide my heart into your Love and Christ's perseverance, for Jesus sake, Amen
Action: read the Bible verses above/below and ask the Lord to encourage your heart in some special way today.
Romans 5: 1-5, 2 Corinthains 4:16-18
.." Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ... we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.. we also rejoice in our sufferings because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured His love out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us."
.."We do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
